The code we build to, how we handle permits and inspections, and what we do when something we installed fails.
The code
We build to the 2023 National Electrical Code
Texas adopts the National Electrical Code statewide through TDLR, and local authorities having jurisdiction may amend it. Where a local amendment is stricter, the local amendment is what we build to.
That matters in practice more than it sounds. Code sets the minimum an installation has to meet to be safe and to pass. It is not a style guide and it is not a target to clear by an inch. Where the code allows something we think is poor practice, we do the better thing and tell you why on the estimate.
Permits
We pull the permit. It is not an upsell.
Where the work requires a permit, we pull it, and the cost of pulling it is in the flat price you approved. We do not present the permit as an optional line you can decline to make the number smaller.
Permitted work is inspected work, and an inspection is a second set of eyes on what we did. An unpermitted panel change or service upgrade is a problem that surfaces years later, when the house is being sold or an insurer is asking questions, and the person holding it is you, not the electrician who took the shortcut.
If a job genuinely does not require a permit, we say so rather than inventing one.
Inspections
We meet the inspector, and we fix what he writes up
We schedule the inspection, we are there for it, and we handle what comes out of it. If an inspector writes up something on our work, correcting it is our cost and our time, not a change order.
You do not chase the city, and you do not sit at home waiting on a window we did not tell you about.
The guarantee
Our work, guaranteed
If our workmanship fails within two years, we come back and put it right at no charge. That is our labor, on our word. Parts carry whatever the manufacturer gives them, and we tell you which is which before you approve anything.
The reason we split labor from parts is that we can only honestly guarantee the half we control. A breaker is a manufactured item with its own warranty; the way it was installed is ours. Telling you which is which before you approve the work is the whole point.
